Carmen M. Neculita is Full Professor and Canada Research Chair (2011-2021) in Treatment of Contaminated Mine Water, at RIME-UQAT, QC, Canada. Previously (2008-2011), she was Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at KAIST, South Korea. She also has 10 years of engineering professional practice in mining industry and with the Canadian and Romanian governments. Prof. Neculita holds a Master and a PhD in Mineral Engineering from Polytechnique Montreal, Canada, and a Chemical Engineering Degree from Iasi Technical University, Romania. Her research interests include passive and active treatment of contaminated mine water, environmental biogeochemistry and mine sites rehabilitation. She has advised to completion several undergraduate and graduate students and published over 60 journal papers.
