Lev Filippov is Professor at the National School of Geology where he is responsible for the training center “Mineral raw materials”. He is also Head of the “Resource and Waste Recovery” Team at the GeoRessources Laboratory at the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France).

He has over 35 years of research experience in mineral processing. He is the author of 200 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, as well as 22 international patents. He specializes in studies of synergistic effects in mixed-collector systems for the flotation of oxidized ores. He also develops the concepts and modeling approaches for pneumatic flotation machines. He led several collaboration projects with industry (Imerys, Eramet, Technip, Areva, ArcelorMittal, Vale), public research projects (ANR). In recent years he has been involved in setting up, managing and carrying out European projects funded within the framework of European Commission programs (FP7, H2020, EIT Raw Materials)
