Scientific competencies:Inorganic geochemistry of mine waste and tailings
Dr Mansour Edraki is a geo-environmental scientist with a PhD from University of New England and with more than 20 years of experience in the field of environmental geochemistry. He is currently leading the Environmental Geochemistry Group at the Sustainable Minerals Institute, The University of Queensland. Mansour’s research interest is in developing innovative techniques for understanding and predicting geochemical processes, which underpin sustainable management of mine waste, particularly mine tailings. He has initiated research collaborations in many international locations and he currently represents SMI-UQ at International Network for Acid Prevention (INAP), which is a global alliance for managing the issue of acid and metalliferous drainage.
